via the John Wayne Pioneer Trail
Our Wagon Train Adventures feature old-fashioned
horsedrawn wagons
along the scenic John Wayne Pioneer Trail - the backbone of the the Iron Horse
State Park - encompassed in the Mountains To Sound Greenway Corridor.
Day trips, overnight trips, and up to 3-week adventures are available.

ROUND TRIP ADVENTURES
- Happy Trails to Easton and back to Happy Trails
- Iron Horse Inn to Bar 44 Ranch. The Bar 44 Ranch is a primitive
campground on the Yakima River and Iron Horse State Park/John Wayne
Pioneer Trail. This can be a day or overnight trip with fishing,
picnicking, and camping opportunities!
- Tour Roslyn by horsedrawn wagon! Visit the Roslyn Cemetery with
26 unique and individual cemeteries within its' borders, shop at the
stores and Brick Tavern made world-famous by the TV series "Northern
Exposure", and top it all off with a Western BBQ supper and
entertainment at a local working farm or South Cle Elum's Iron Horse
Inn.
DESTINATION ADVENTURES
- TUNNEL OF LOVE TOUR! Length of Adventure: 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours
OR 5 to 6 hours. This is the only tunnel trail of this length
in the United States of America! Bring thick warm blankets and
cuddle up with your honey as you ride through this 2.3 mile railroad
"Tunnel of Love" on Snoqualmie Pass! 45 minutes later you'll exit
the tunnel and continue west along the Iron Horse State Park with
breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding mountain peaks. End
your adventure at the Olallie State Park Trailhead at Exit 38 or the
beautiful Cedar River Watershed Education Center at Rattlesnake Lake
near North Bend.
- Iron Horse Ranch near Thorp to Iron Horse Inn at South Cle Elum.
This three-hour wagon train trip starts at the top of the Yakima
Canyon rim with spectacular views of the Yakima River east and west
and descend hundreds of feet to the John Wayne Pioneer Trail. Travel
westbound on the John Wayne Pioneer Trail alongside the Yakima River
to the Historic Iron Horse Inn at South Cle Elum.
- Iron Horse Ranch near Thorp to Springwood Ranch (formerly Stuart
Anderson's). Length of Adventure: Wagon trip is 1-1/2 hours. Join us
for a wagon trip and Western BBQ at the Springwood Ranch near Thorp.
The John Wayne Pioneer Trail passes through this grand cattle ranch
made famous worldwide by former owner Stewart Anderson. Complete
with spacious party barn, green lawns, and modern facilities.
- Iron Horse Inn at South Cle Elum to Springwood Ranch (formerly
Stuart Anderson's) or Thorp Grist Mill. Length of Adventure: Wagon
Trip is 4 hours. Length of mealtime or Mill Time is up to you!

OVERNIGHT TRIPS
Travel by covered wagon and spend the night at the Bar 44 Ranch near
Cle Elum! This 44-acre primitive campground is situated between the John
Wayne Pioneer Trail and Yakima River. Test your fly-fishing skills in
the popular Yakima River, sing around the campfire, and search the night
sky for constellations far away from the glare of city lights.
